Introduction
This blog was created to pass the time whilst I am on the dole waiting to start work. Being skint and bored makes you appreciate the little things in life. Cheap thrills and simple pleasures. I'm not talking about warm fuzzy feelings from watching a sunset, swimming with dolphins or receiving hand written post. It's the smaller stuff that gives you a kick, that nearly kills you or knocks you out. That isn't crumby, corny or phony. That you think no one else notices or appreciates, but probably everyone does.
Inspired by the following short film, "Foutaises" (things i like, things i hate) by Jean-Pierre Jeunet the director of Amelie:
John Coltrane playing "My favourite things":
long distance passer-byers
talking in the mirror
other people's handwriting
bollarded trees
in-time overhead clapping
